We have significant investment and development in UHPC. Not only can we supply products with UHPC, but we have created a proprietary UHPC mix design with locally based raw materials.

Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC) is a new class of concrete that has been developed in recent decades for its exceptional properties of strength and durability. This high performance concrete can be utilized in structural rehabilitation and accelerated bridge construction in addition to several other applications.

Why UHPC?

null

UHPC has mechanical and durability properties that far exceed conventional concrete. It’s a material that has a projected 100-year life span with exceptional strength, durability, flexibility and longevity.

  • Twice the lifespan
  • Twice the compressive strength
  • Twice the durability
  • Half the design weight
  • Impervious to saltwater

Fundamentals and Applications of PCI/UHPC

Standard Concrete Products is a national leader in the precast prestressed concrete industry. Its top managers are open minded and creative. Their enthusiasm is infectious all the way down to the production floor workers. Their dictionary does not have the crippling question, “has this been done before?”

The company leadership has resulted in it being the first in the US to make precast prestressed concrete products using a new and exciting material called Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC), using their own concrete mix in their Tampa plant at a fraction of the cost of imported materials. The future is exciting. Compared to conventional concrete, UHPC products have half the weight, twice the strength and  service life, while they reduce emission of harmful gases.
